Stereotec receives Lumiere Award for “Call her Lotte”
Florian Maier, wo worked with his STEREOTEC team as a Senior Stereographer on “Call her Lotte”, received his 7th Lumiere Award from the International 3D and Advanced Imaging Society. “Call her Lotte” (Director: Annekathrin Wetzel) won already more than 10 international renowned prices and STEREOTEC is very happy to be awarded for the 7th time now with the prestigious Lumiere Award. Congratulations also to the production team from Miriquidi-Film.

Action Cam 3D – the new 3D System at IBC (11.C71 and 11.C80)
Visit us at IBC at Codex stand (11.C71) or on Solectrix stand (11.C80). Stereotec in cooperation with Codex brings good quality 3D to the next level of usability – the new Action Cam 3D System features a reduced size, small weight and low complexity. With just 2 kg for the rig and 1,5 kg for the recording unit including camera heads the system is perfectly suited for handheld and steadicam, making shooting simple in tight places or to create extraordinary new perspectives. The system consists of the Action Cam together with a new version of the Nano Rig and Side by Side mini – perfectly adopted to the small camera heads from Codex. Read more.
“Call Her Lotte!” at the Festival de Cannes
Our 3D shortfilm “Call Her Lotte!” (Stereography by Florian Maier and his team from Stereotec) was invited to the Festival de Cannes! The world premiere took place at the Los Angeles Jewish Filmfest, followed by the UK-Premiere at the Edinburgh 3D Film Festival. The film was screened in Cannes on May 19th with incredible good feedback . Read more at Variety.

VIY 3D breaking Russian box office record for opening weekend
Stereotec the 3D fantasy-action feature by Director Oleg Stephchenko grossed more than $ 17.7 million at the box office on the opening weekend, more than any other Russian film before. STEREOTEC founder Florian Maier worked as Director of Stereography on the production, assisted by his experienced STEREOTEC crew. The production used two ARRI Alexas on a STEREOTEC mid-size rig known for its excellent precision and quick calibration. In this way the production could be finished at the speed of a 2D production.

Viy 3D premieres in Moscow
Viy 3D premieres in Moscow. Russians biggest movie up to now was supported by Stereotec equipment and crew. Have a look at the trailer.
“Best 3D Feature” for Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters
Lead Stereographer Florian Maier received another Lumiere Award for “Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters”. The movie was chosen to be the “Best 3D Feature” 2013 at the I3DS Europe Awards. STEREOTEC was providing equipment and 3D crew for shooting the Paramount production. The movie was a worldwide success with more than 225 Mio USD earned at the Box Office.
STEREOTEC shot commercial for Arcelik
In December STEREOTEC shot a commercial for the well known Turkish brand “Arcelik”. Shooting took place in a Studio in Istanbul shot with two Red Epics on a fully motorized STEREOTEC Light-Weight-Rig. Shooting was exactly as fast as in 2D. The additional recorded metadata was very important as most of the set will be CG built. Stereography was done by Senior-Stereographer Florian Maier and his crew.
Stereotec finished shooting Shvabe commercial
Stereotec just finished shooting a 3D commercial for Shvabe, a company that manufactures scientific glass for the space industry. The shooting took place in a studio in Moscow. DoP was the renowned Russian cinematographer Maksim Osadchiy (“Stalingrad”). It was shot with two epics on a Lightweight rig including STEREOTEC’s full automatic workflow – this made an extreme fast shooting speed possible; the 3D shooting didn’t take even a single minute longer the in 2D… The shoot was led by Senior Stereographer Florian Maier.
